Students exploring Arctic research
Science for Schools is an outreach program developed by Arctic Frontiers and the Nordnorsk Science Center for lower and upper secondary schools in Tromsø.
The program introduces students to Arctic-related topics in climate, environment, and technology through researcher-led lectures, inspiration sessions, and hands-on project work. The goal is to spark curiosity about science and foster engagement with the future of the Arctic.
The program includes three main phases: an inspiration day with talks and activities, student-led research projects focused on Arctic themes, and final presentations. Selected projects are showcased at the Nordnorsk Science Center, with some invited to exhibit during the Arctic Frontiers conference.
Science for Schools gives young people valuable insight into the research process and shows how local knowledge connects to global challenges.
The program is supported by Samfunnsløftet and Interreg NPA through the CAP-SHARE project.
